Dear Members,

As we step forward in yet another promising year, I extend my warm greetings and sincere gratitude to each of you for reposing the trust in me and my committee members to lead the Kerala High Court Advocates Association for the year 2024.

The challenges we have is immense with technology poised to bring about revolutionary changes to the Judicial institution itself. Kerala is already the front runner in the country when it comes to adopting technology. However, while adopting technology the largest stakeholders, i.e the advocates community have not been consulted and my primary task would be to address the adoption of technology without disrupting the livelihoods of advocates and their Registered Clerks.

There have been increasing reports of attack on advocates and in the absence of the Advocates Protection Act as adopted by several other Indian States, we will have to fight it out with our strength. However, none of our fight will involve strikes and boycotts and we have decided only to deal with the issue through legal means and using our skill as advocates and ensure we pursue each case of atrocity on the advocates to its legal and logical end.

Justice is not only about legal expertise but also about a deep commitment to ethical practice and public service. Equally significant is our responsibility to uphold the values of empathy, fairness and accessibility in our work. As advocates, we have the power to create lasting change in people’s lives, and we must never lose sight of that duty.

It is our responsibility to ensure that the quality of the Bar should continuously strive for excellence. There is no finish line when we pursue excellence and our pursuit of excellence should be a continuous journey. It will be our attempt to create a platform where research and academic pursuit of law would be encouraged and every attempt to expose young advocates to various other legal systems around the world will be enabled with tie ups with other Bar associations across the world would be attempted.

The legal profession in Kerala has always been rooted in excellence, and our Association embodies that tradition. Each of you has played a vital role in this journey, whether by representing clients with diligence, advocating for legal reforms, or participating in our various initiatives aimed at enhancing the quality of legal services. I thank every member for your contributions to the Kerala High Court Advocates Association. Our Association continues to stand as a pillar of integrity, fostering a professional community committed to the pursuit of justice, upholding the law, and serving society.

Looking forward, let us come together to build a more dynamic, inclusive, and robust Association. I encourage all members to actively engage in our upcoming events, share your insights and work collaboratively as we shape the future of our profession in Kerala and lead by example for the rest of the country to emulate.

Thank you once again for your unwavering support and dedication.

Warm regards,
